What is Thyroid?
Thyroid is an important part of the human body as it produces hormones that regulate metabolism. A healthy thyroid is important in keeping an individual functioning normally and feeling well. The thyroid gland is located in the front of the neck and is shaped like a butterfly. The two lobes of the thyroid are connected by the isthmus. The main hormones produced by the thyroid are triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4)

- Hypothyroidism: is when the thyroid is not producing enough hormones
- Hyperthyroidism: is when the thyroid is producing too many hormones
- Goiter: is the term used when the thyroid becomes enlarged

- Thyroid Cancer: is a condition which occurs when abnormal cells form in the thyroid
